A Charming Summer Cabin Situated On Its Very Own Little Island
Project Ö (where Ö means island in Swedish) was completed earlier this year and brings us the ultimate summer retreat. It consists of a small-scale cabin and a workshop which were built on a five-acre island on the edge of Archipelago National Park in Finland. The owners purchased the entire island and turned it into their ain little slice of paradise, a place where they can relax, unwind and spend time with friends and family during the summer. Although both the motel and the workshop are small (70 square meters of space in total) they can comfortably sleep up to 10 people.
"
The minor island on which this beautiful summer cabin was congenital is entirely self-sufficient. It uses solar ability and filtered sea water and has a sauna stove which gives hot running water and heats the spaces. It would be fair to consider this an off-the-grid retreat peculiarly since it tin can only be reached by boat. The cabin and workshop follow a traditional Finnish artful, featuring gabled roofs, long eaves and extended gutters.
They likewise have vertical cladding within and out and enjoy a strong bond with their natural surroundings. Large windows reveal the mesmerizing views and aid the interior spaces seem less small. Ultimately, the designers wanted to make this retreat every bit compact as possible without compromising functionality or comfort.
