Where Can I Apply for Dual Citizenship in the Philippines

Republic Human action 9225 otherwise known as the Citizenship Retentiveness and Reacquisition Human action of 2003 (more popularly known as the Dual Citizenship Police force) enables former natural-born Filipinos who have become naturalized citizens of another country to reacquire/retain their Philippine citizenship by taking an oath of allegiance to the Democracy of the Philippines earlier a Philippine Consular Officer.  Upon reacquiring their Philippine citizenship, they shall bask full civil, economical and political rights equally Filipinos.

Nether the principle of derivative citizenship, unmarried children below eighteen (18) years of age, whether legitimate, illegitimate, or adopted, of former Filipino parents who reacquired their Philippine citizenship under this law, may too be deemed Filipino citizens, if they are included in the parent's awarding for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.

All the same, there is another kind of dual citizenship, which is non covered by the law.  This pertains to a dual citizen by nascency:  A child built-in in the United states of america when either parent was still a Filipino citizen is considered to be a dual citizen from nascency (if born on or after January 17, 1973).

Dual citizens who wish to apply for a Philippine passport will need to make a separate awarding and submit the requirements as specified in "Passport" link on the left.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REACQUISITION/RETENTION OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP

I.  Originals of the following:

1.  Duly achieved application form (three originals) 

2.  Four (4) 2x2 contempo photos (Without eyeglasses and against a plain white groundwork)

a.  For married women

-  PSA-issued Marriage Document (if married in the Philippines), or

-  Wedlock Certificate/Study of Marriage (if married in the United states of america)

b. For widow/widower

-  PSA-issued Wedlock Document (if married in the Philippines), or

-  Union Certificate/Report of Marriage (if married in the US)

• PSA-issued Expiry Certificate of spouse (if spouse died in the Philippines), or

• DOH issued Death Certificate of spouse (if spouse died in the US)

c. If married but annulled or divorced

-  PSA-issued Marriage Certificate with note on annulment, or

   judicial recognition of divorce (if matrimony was registered in the Philippines),

   or

d. For bidder who obtained US citizenship as derivative of his/her parent
